going on at Margot Cafe & Bar throughout the year. Look

with recipes from Margot, wine tips from Jay, and information

The Margot Family:
We said a sad goodbye to longtime employee David Talbert and his family, Deanna and two little girls Bronwyn and Veronica as they moved to Ocala, FL. Happily we've added Amanda Ratliff and Trev Wooten to the service staff. Betsy Johnston set her sights on the haute cuisine of NYC after three years of employment. Tandy Wilson (a Nashville native via the Napa valley) brings his talents to the kitchen staff as nighttime sous chef. And JP Lee (The Orangerie in Knoxville, TN) is now exciting our palates with his dessert and pastry creations.
Upcoming Events:
- Winter Solstice Slowfood Dinner. Monday evening, January 23rd, beginning at 6:30. Menu features the offerings of local growers and will include a mushroom bisque, American caviar, cheese souffle and choucroute garni. Make your reservations now. Cost is $40.
- Wine Dinner: Indigenous Italian Varietals. Tuesday, February 7th. $80
- The 2006 cooking classes continue to be sold out. If you are interested in getting on the list for 2007 send your name, email, address and phone number to info@margotcafe.com.
Tidbits:
The folks at Woodland Studios are spiffing up the place with new windows facing our parking lot.
Margot and Heather are headed to Maui for the January break while Jay and wife Elizabeth await the arrival of their second child.
Menu Notes:
Look for hearty stews and braises to comfort you in the cold winter months. It's never to early too think about your sweetheart - Valentine's Day/Tuesday February 14th is just around the corner. Reserve now.
